3 stars I'm not sure if this UK band is still active but they released a 25 minute EP in 2015 with a female lead singer. She left after that leaving them as a trio and the guitarist takes up the vocals which he is very good at. Higher pitched and I'm just not into them at all but he can sing. He reminds me of the singer from 3RD DEGREE. So we get this complex music bordering on Math Rock with a singer sounding like he should be in Crossover. For me it doesn't work even though I can't help but be impressed with the instrumental work. I did think of TILES with the tone of the guitar quite often.

An interesting start to this record with that 1 1/2 minute opener which is more of a soundscape opening and ending with breathing with experimental stuff in between. Then the next two songs show us who they are with plenty of vocals in both and a very showy display of instrumental work. I do like that fourth track "The Adventures Of Jerry Troutmonto(Part 1)" for it's crunchy sound and complexity. I like those guitar leads too.

"The Hand On Your Shoulder" is surprisingly jazzy and lightweight as fast paced almost whispered vocals join in. TILES really comes to mind on this one as they change it up with some power and more. "Minotaur" is the 10 1/2 minute closer, by far the longest piece on this 35 minute record. Again TILES and that crunchy sound then those vocals but they change it up as usual. A very proggy band.

These guys are players and we get some lights out playing throughout along with a theatrical singer. Not my cup of tea but it might be yours.
