Magnatar is an unknown but in same time quite good band from USA who provide a combination of jazz rock with progressive rock elements thown in, the result is quite great overall. Well, i guess the name of the band is taken or is almost same with magnetar (who is known as powerful neutron star).The band released the debut in 2018 named Parallel world. The alabum is entirely instrumental and the musicians done a great job. The music is influenced by Yes, to be checked the opening title track. Even the album is instrumental there is no boring moment here, the listner is conected all the way, the passages are well developed, well written, keyboards and guitars have an important role. Most of the songs are quite complex and can be enjoyed by any prog fan. Forte pieces are opening track Parallel world, the keyboard piece Solara who is the opening for nex tune New Galaxy also good. So, overall quite nice album, little known in prog circles, this is a promising work that is sounding tight and well performed. Intresting art work and as I figure it out has a neutron star on it as magnetar hence the name of the band MAGNATAR - well almost. 3.5 stars for sure, solid instrumental progressive rock with some jazz rock overtones here and there.
