For a 'metal' categorized release, this is very peculiar. I mean that by the fact that all of the instruments are not actually instruments, but computerized emulations of real instruments. In a sense, you are listening to something that is composed, but in itself artificial. While I can say that the actual composition is the most important part of any piece of music, the fact that there is no actual musicianship here does hurt the enjoyment of this EP greatly, and some of the programming ends up making it sound like the score to an early video game.

Criticisms aside however, parts of this work are indeed well-composed, especially the parts with the 'orchestral' settings, which end up sounding much more authentic then the other instruments. The opener, ironically titled 'Open' has a pleasantly schizophrenic riff to start things off. Besides that, there are a few promising sections but the majority of it feels really unpolished; if only our man here could have released this with real musicians and emotion in the musical phrasing, then I would be happy to listen to this. However, while it's decent for a first time release, the manner in which the music is presented destroys much of the listening pleasure.
