FRESQ

Mysterkah is a neo prog band with symphonic touches formed in 1995 in a little town Chedde in FRance. They release so far in 2002 a single album named Fresq. The music is quite complex in arrangements for an usual neo prog band, but Mysterkah manage to come with a superb release, very underrated in my opinion. The cherry on the cake is the female, natural born norwegian singer Yleah White, who's range is very good for this aproach of music, very warm and beautiful vocal parts, but aswell she made all the keyboards arrangements from here, showing that is a virtouso keyboard player. Very good are the parts when the keys interluded with the guitar, superb musicianship and intristing vocals arrangements that bring in front her very versatile voice. The album has some wonderful instrumental section that shine with great guitar and keyboard work. A good neo prog album IMO, that stands apart from the aglomeration of neo band from that period or present, very symphonic in parts and very good all the way. Is sad that they release so far only this album, was a very promissing debute who turns to be they swan song. All pieces are great with a plus on Cryosis, all are long, well developed, with superb musicianship and with a touch of concept album, a story about the end of the world. So a 4 star album to me, quite unnoticed band and album and is a damn shame because is one of the mst pleasent experiences I've tried from neo prog zone latley. Recommended.
