![]() An odd release, but not one I don't appreciate at least a little. Shattered Skies' debut EP Reanimation was one of my favourite releases of the original djent movement, mostly because of its use of shining clean vocals and symphonic riffs. This takes it to another level, redressing the songs with piano and even more symphonics. I would nearly say they're better versions, but the piano is blatantly fake and the production leaves a lot to be desired (although the original also had that issue). There are still some fantastic melodies here and I enjoy it, but I've never really seen the point of this release, especially when they never really seemed to develop their piano-centric side on later albums. 6.7 (2nd listen) Part of my listening diary from my facebook music blog - www.facebook.com/TheExoskeletalJunction
