COLOUR HAZE are a Stoner Rock band out of Germany who have been quite active releasing 12 studio albums since
1995 with 2019 being the last one they dropped. "Tempel" was released in 2006 and like the other two I have by this
bass, drum, guitar trio it's very much a hit and miss affair. It seems like every record I have by them there's one or two
really good songs plus a couple of tunes I'm not into then the rest. I guess these guys just aren't for me despite the
obvious talent. I mentioned in an earlier review of one of their albums that I feel there's only so much they can do
when they aren't playing or adding other instruments. Well we do get a guest adding some organ on a couple of tracks
but that's it. I wish they hit us harder at times but honestly I don't know if that would push them into 4 star territory
for me or not. The one track that stands out for me is "Gold & Silver" with the vocals being prominent and they really add a lot. To the point I'm thinking I wish there was more singing on here! Well that thought vanished with the next tune "Earth" where he's almost yelling the lyrics to the point I'm saying I wish this was all instrumental! Another tune that stands out for me is "Stratofarm" where we not only get vocals we get dual vocals. I like the heaviness and guitar late. The title track would probably be my third favourite. I like this band but honestly I could take or leave them. 3 stars is all I got.
