This was originally released in 1987 as a 45 minute, 12 track vinyl recording. So the cover posted here is for that 1987 release but the 19 tracks shown are for the re-issue in 1992 with a different album cover. They don't show the extra seven songs as being bonus tracks on the 1992 re-issue but have them sprinkled throughout the original release. I have the 1992 release on cd with the 19 tracks worth over 72 minutes. Hermeto Pascoal is an ultra talented musician from Brazil who is a multi-instrumentalist. I will not soon forget his flute playing on his earlier album that Bamsen sent me called "Slave Mass", an incredible release. This one doesn't hit the spot like that one did, not even close. We get a lot of variety here from vocal tracks with male or female vocals to jazzy numbers, to the Avant, to folky. Yes this is an adventerous release to say the least. Lots of traditional instruments too, some I've never heard of. A six piece with some guests helping out including accordion on the opener and seven string guitar on track six. Lots of piano and horns too on this record.
