THE DEVIL S STAIRCASE is the instrumental project of Luis Nasser and Tim Mc Caskey from SONUS UMBRA,
surrounded by some other very talented and competent musicians! In a way, it's an extension of SONUS UMBRA
music, but slightly different somehow ! There are many influences here and the fact that the album is 100 %
instrumental doesn't cut anything of the interest and curiosity to discover something very, very well done by great
musicians This album is the fruit of passion for serious old school prog music, in the vein of Mahavishnu, Gentle
Giant, Kansas,Jethro Tull, Anglagard, Anekdoten music ! The vintage sound makes the album even more attractive and
the proeminent sound of bass gives the album an extra charm, because this instrument has a very important role in
TDS music! Great drumming aswell and the clever use of some...weird instruments makes the album even catchier
and attractive! Most of the songs are mid tempo or slow, never boring, kind of space rock music sometimes,
diverse,intriguing with twists and that's excellent !
Instrumental prog rock has it's charm, we often love the long instrumental passages in the prog rock compositions,
well, here we are spoiled with an 100 % instrumental album ! 5 compositions 3 being longer than 10 minutes and a
great and amazing musical discovery is guaranteed ! Each audition gives to the listeners new chills and thrills, you can
discover new things and that's the magic of this unique album !It's called eclectic rock, well, this is it and it's top class
music ! 4. 5 stars for something exceptional !
