![]() Their take on prog metal as a genre is at times really refreshing - from the thrash segments blended into opening track Liquidateurs to the folk-tinged passages of Phame Quest, the dark atmospheric and sparse bass and synth passages found in Karmasutra and the intriguing distorted synth-based theme that opens final cut Wax Attaque. However, in between these and other themes and passages that are distinctly creative and even pretty original at times we're also served galloping riff sequences with the standard synth or shredding overlay, slower passages more similar to generic metal in sound and a vocalist that tends to hit some metal cliches when his voice is strained, rather than restraining the vocal performance for the latter detail. There's lots of talent here though - and if some metal cliches and a somewhat subpar production doesn't come across as a negative for you there's quite a lot of interest on this production. Flawed but intriguing is my personal asessment of this one.
