SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH

7" single release for the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album. Nothing new, no edits, just the songs. Changes, the B side, is of course the only true ballad that Black Sabbath ever put to vinyl and still sounds great to this day. Taken from the previous album Vol. 4, it pointed towards the efforts that Iommi was trying to steer the group towards, namely being seen as more than just a primitive plodding heavy metal group. ANd unlike fluff like Fluff and Laguna Sunrise, it actually stands among the group's best.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, on the other hand, is one of those songs that all true Ozzy era Sabbath fans relish. Tune yer guitar down to B (not necessary, but some transcriptions insist Iommi did) , bang your head slowly, it is a trademark sound. Ozzy would make a killing recording these types of you & me against the world / don't let the bastards grind you down anthems.

From perusing some sites, copies of this single release are said to vary in collector value from $5 to $80 depending on the country it was issued in. Still, if you have the albums, and you're not a collector, the albums are both worthy purchases as the remaining songs are as good as these two. Great music, good value for the collector. How do you rate that ? Collectors/fans only despite the great music.
