3 stars album was released through the MALS label in 2008. Gurth formed around the turn of the millenium and released a demo in 2003.

Stylistically the album features a kind of easy listening fusion that is not very complex yet challenging enough to still be interesting. The music is predominantly instrumental but there are a few vocal parts here and there. The vocals are mostly sung in Spanish (both male and female vocals) but I think I heard a few English words as well. All songs are good quality compositions but very few stand out as particularly memorable after the albums has finished playing. "Somnis Lliures" which opens the album and the ninth song on the tracklist titled "Truita De Tortuga" are a bit different though as they draw influences from eighties King Crimson with the fast complex guitar playing. One of the best things about "Tormentes" is that the musical ideas never outstay their welcome and the songs have many parts and developments. Itīs a very melodic album and the jazz-rock/fusion element is just one of the elements of the Gurthīs sound. You could just as well describe this as a progressive rock album with jazz-rock/fusions tendencies.

Gurth are a well playing band, but the vocals arenīt the greatest. Thankfully they are as mentioned above few and far between. "Tormentes" features a relatively well sounding production job, and upon conclusion itīs a good quality release and a 3 star (60%) rating is warranted.
