KATARSIS

Now here we have a really splendid performance, delivered by this Swedish prog band. AGUSA are offering an enchanting blend of psychelic, folk and southern rock. This recorded during their Europe tour in 2016, while participating at the 'Side Effects' psych fest in Athens, Greece. They are on top of the game here, featuring solely two but definitely expanded song excerpts from their 2014 debut album 'Högtid'. As this is totally instrumental there's a proper improv potential to notice. Both songs have similiarities when it comes to the structure, which means the alternating groovy and floating parts within.

Uti Vår Hage shows a retro 70's outfit, reminding me of Moonwagon, Hypnos 69 in parts. Occasionally there's a noticable folksy touch to state, especially when Jenny Puertas' flute contributions are coming along. Decorated with wonderful guitar and hammond flirtations Kärlek Från Agusa appears embedded in a jamming approach akin to the Allman Brothers Band or the German Love Machine. 'Katarsis' is a little on the short side concerning the entire running time, but definitely appealing, as it is principally known regarding their studio albums too.
