Bards of Antiquity biography
Inspired by the experimental black metal turned experimental Norwegian band ULVER, BARDS OF ANTIQUITY, based in Concord, California, create progressive ambient trance compositions based on classic mythological tales.

The Bards began when ORPHEUS (vocals, keyboards) and TRISTAN (guitar) realized they could simply write whatever they pleased and self-produce it, with no regard to structure or genre. Initially songs were written on acoustic guitar and a Casio keyboard, with drums and backing tracks programmed through the freeware, Anvil. Soon they would be joined by good friends DANTE (bass) and PYRAMUS (drums), which enabled them to round out their sound.

Their self-produced debut album, Salix Babylonia, released in 2015, showcased the many facets they can bring to their vision of moody ambient pieces with a nod to history.

The Bards employ an anything goes, Do-It-Yourself attitude and continue to self-produce concept albums.
