The story of THE RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINE is a chain reaction of cause and effect. Elliot and Jordan met while touring Europe with Australian folk rockers THE WISHING WELL. They get along well, they love music, they start putting the first gears and screws in the MACHINE. Back to London they start writing the material that'll become FRAGILE TIMES, the debut album. During a two year long process they flesh out ideas, write and arrange fifteen tunes, then scrap seven of them, because as with any other MACHINE, every single piece has to be perfectly engineered. They hire a studio and start tracking drums, courtesy of London studio ace Owen MARTIN (Suzi QUATRO); the sessions are engineered and directed by Mr. Nick TREPKA. Daniel and Jordan meet each other while working for another band. They start collaborating on some Music together and again, the stars align and the third perfect piece is in place. Daniel is a gifted multi instrumentalist (of CRAWLSPACE fame) and an outstanding producer/engineer . THE MACHINE grows bigger and mightier and Daniel takes place in the producer's seat for all the following studio sessions.

The result is a collection of diverse, dynamic, exciting songs. Elliot's politically and environmentally conscious lyrics complement Jordan's views on the nature of relationships.
