Mythery biography
Denmark's MYTHERY was formed in June 2010 as a project initiated by drummer, composer and lyricist Nikolaj HOLGER. While studying at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, he met up with Laurits EMANUEL (vocals), Simon RABENHOJ (guitars), Tobias DALL (bass) and Mikkel ROSENBECK (keyboards). With the later 2010 addition of violinist Michala HOJ, the band's lineup was complete, and for two years ''The Awakening of the Beast'' was conceived, and with the help of producer Kristian MARTINSEN, recorded during the summer of 2012. With band members possessing jazz and classical backgrounds, MYTHERY's style music is a technically complex brand of symphonic progressive metal with a few twists from the norm, primarily the generous amount of Michala's violin work and Laurits' vocals, which veer away from the more traditional borderline operatic approach by embracing the style of singing employed by certain indie rock acts. ''The Awakening of the Beast'' was released in August of 2013 by Mighty Music.
