Srod biography
Santiago RODRIGUEZ ALMENARA (SROD) is a progressive rock/metal multi-instrumentalist hailing from Venezuela. Since his childhood, SROD has been taking lessons in, and playing instruments such as, piano, drums, cello, even joining an orchestra as a barritone at age 15. Eventually, he picked up the guitars and focused on building up his expertise. In 2003, and before settling on the name SROD, he started recordings under the moniker HARLAST, and by 2006 had built his own studio. In 2008, and three year's since their inception, his band SEXTO SONAR achieves a solid line-up and records their debut album ''Enfrentando la Realidad''. However, SROD also worked on his solo debut album, ''Nature'' which was released through Unicorn Digital in 2012. The release finds SROD continuing to compose and record material for his future solo works and his band SEXTO SONAR.

SROD's music follows the learnings from big names of the guitar world such as VAI, SATRIANI, GILBERT, MOORE and PETRUCCI, infusing them into his instrumental progressive rock/metal mix of influences from fusion and symphonic rock (AFTER FOREVER, NEAL MORSE, JORDAN RUDESS).
