The Antarcticans biography
Noisy and dissonant, THE ANTARCTICANS are a five-piece post-rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their lineup consists of Mike MORGAN on drums, Brendan WILLARD on bass guitar, Guy VALDEZ on guitar, David JASSO on guitar and David BACKHAUS on other percussion instruments.

Their brand of post-rock is very strange, consisting of mainly post-rock song structure but with a more psychedelic and noise-rock influenced sound that has sludge metal moments and some really heavy almost drone atmospherics.

They have been releasing music since their 2004 self-titled record and their most recent project was a collaboration with ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE?s Kawabata MAKOTO.
