Unexpected Allies biography
UNEXPECTED ALLIES is a progressive metal outfit formed in 2008 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania by vocalist Fred BOND, guitarist Vinny VACCARO, bassist Nick PAOLETTI, keyboardist David FRANZO, guitarist Matt PAOLETTI, and drummer Garret WIGGINS. The band kept a low profile musically for a while, but in late 2011 the band released their debut studio effort, ''The Author & The Architect''.

Despite the presence of vocalist in their lineup, the band's music is surprisingly instrumental, and takes much from the instrumental progressive metal in terms of melodic structure and instrumental prowess. Fans of progressive metal with virtuoso guitar parts, digital synth washes, and METROID METAL-esque rhythmic structures will enjoy UNEXPECTED ALLIES.
