Mizutama Shobodan biography
Actually, a Japanese New Wave project MIZUTAMA SHOBODAN had got started since 1979 with a strong intention of five 'non-musicianly' girls, who all were pretty annoyed with the Japanese pop scene in those days.
TENKO (voices, guitar), KAMURA (voices, bass), MANAKO (guitar), KAYO (keyboards), and Marume MIYAMOTO (drums) - all of the girls were obviously amateur in playing instruments (in the beginning they played cover songs like "Jumpin' Jack Flash" or "You Really Got Me" but sadly their play was too bad to be approved as a professional outfit), and their strong intention of playing 'novel' music (called punk / new wave as it is said in Japan) might bring out their magical music appeal after they settled TENKO as a lead vocalist.
MIZUTAMA SHOBODAN had released two official LPs - "Otome No Inori Wa Da Da Da!" (1981) and "Manten Ni Akai Hanabira" (1985) - via their own label Kinniku-Bijo, and disappeared in 1989 whilst TENKO had got appreciated as a 'voice performer' (also see TENKO's biography).
