Morne biography
MORNE are a post-metal/progressive metal band from Boston, MA, formed in 2005. Between 2005 and 2009, the band released a demo and a split before solidifying their lineup and releasing their first full length, "Untold Wait", in late 2009. The band toured extensively in North American and Europe shortly thereafter and were subsequently signed to Profound Lore records for the release of their second full-length "Asylum", released in 2011.

MORNE's earlier recordings were reminiscent of more atmospheric doom metal bands like MY DYING BRIDE and ANATHEMA, as well as elements of burgeoning crust-punk and post-metal like NEUROSIS or AMENRA. With the band's newest release, MOURNE enter more experimental territory, adding elements of dark chamber music a la UNIVERS ZERO or AMBER ASYLUM (Indeed, Kris Force of AMBER ASYLUM has been a collaborator in both of the band's albums) as well as aspects of art rock and classic progressive rock. MORNE will appeal to fans of darker, heavier music like SWANS, ISIS, and FIELDS OF THE NEHPILHIM.
