Spectral Incursion biography
SPECTRAL INCURSION was a technical progressive metal band formed in Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA in the mid-80s as a continuation of the band GRAVEN IMAGE. Its founding members were Arthur MELONAS (bass, lead vocals), Steve LYTLE (guitar, vocals) and Jay FRASCA on drums. In 1988, Rob TADIELLO took over the lead vocals and with him they recorded and released their first demo Nowhere Fast. Subsequently, the band returned to the original 3-piece and released their self-titled EP in 1989 that included four tracks off their demo sessions, re-recorded with MELONAS on lead vocals. Original drummer Jay FRASCA was replaced by Jim MAZARAKIS (ex-CANDY STRIPER DEATH ORGY) and the band went on to release their second demo Middle of Nowhere in 1991, playing a number of shows in and around the Boston area. They eventually broke up in the early 90s but the members continued to play in different projects.

In January 2011, Stormspell Records released the 2-cd Anthology, which includes songs from every demo plus 2010 recordings of older songs from the early era of the band and video clips. SPECTRAL INCURSION's sound shows influences from RUSH and BLACK SABBATH and tech-metal pioneers of the 80s, such as VOIVOD and WATCHTOWER.
