The Longest Day biography
An Aussie Space Rock / Post Rock / Shoegaze duo The LONGEST DAY were formed in 1997 by Jay and Brad, under the same roof in Western Sydney. Although lo-fi and psychedelic-principled soundscape like Flying Saucer Attack had been born, they seemed disbanded without any release because of Jay's immigration into Canberra in 2002.

In 2005, through conversation in a drinking party, Jay and Brad spent a week upon recording and mixing, also with their past material, and released the debut work "Slumber", that was distributed gratis. In the following year they went ahead for their next creation "Sounds Of Jupiter", written and recorded in Canberra. These two albums could attract a Sydney label Feral Media in 2007, which distributed their two previous albums and screwed them strongly into Australian rock scene - they played in the October Pow Wow show with a strong reception.

The LONGEST DAY got restarted in September 2007 in Canberra for their next production, in collaboration with Boston artist Christy Romanick (guitar). The material could be crystallized in Sydney as their third album "Night Falls", released upon May 1, 2008.
