Red Tide biography
RED TIDE was formed in 1992 in Connecticut by Jeff WU (guitars/vocals) and Justin FOLEY (drums). Jeff BENNETT joined as second guitarist. After a series of Thrash Metal demo releases, the band began to absorb influences from jazz and fusion. Bass player Andy DICKENS joined in 1995 but BENNETT left, he was later replaced by Ian KAUFFMAN. With this line-up, the band recorded their 1997 debut Themes of the Cosmic Consciousness.

In 1998 Andy DICKENS leaves and is replaced by Matt blue OUELLETTE, who features on the second album Type II from 2002. Red Tide disbanded soon after its release.
