The Redneck Manifesto biography
Rather well-known Dubliners The REDNECK MANIFESTO have been around since 1998 when they began offering 7-inch singles on their Greyslate label. By 2001 they'd put out a debut proper, 'Thirty Six Strings', with the recording help of Alan O'Boyle. Well-received, it was named Irish Album of the Year by the Event Guide.

2002 saw the unit release follow up 'Cut Your Heart Off From Your Head' and in 2003 after hitting big with the U.S. BMX crowd, the band played the South By Southwest Music Festival in Texas. That same year REDNECK MANIFESTO, now a quintet, released their third album, 'I Am Brazil', this time recorded at France's infamous Black Box Studios and made available in 2004 on the Trust Me I'm a Thief label. Their bio reads; "Regarded as one of the country's finest live bands, this innovative and resolutely independent group has bypassed the normal channels of industry hype. The successes they have achieved to date - sold-out venues and snapped-up recordings issued on their own label - have been based entirely on their own merits, hard work and a phenomenal word-of-mouth reputation."
