Abandon biography
Swedish act ABANDON was formed back in 1996, and first made a mark for themselves with their first demo in 1998, the band at that time consisting of Johan Carlzon (vocals), Carl Linnaeus (bass), Ingvar Sandgren (guitars), Johan Nilsson (guitars) and Magnus Häggman (drums). Häggman left the band shortly after, replaced by Dani Cosmi (drums).

When they made their official debut in 2001 with When It Falls Apart further line-up alterations had taken place. Nilsson and Linnaeus had both left, while David Fredriksson (bass) was the new man in. Following this production Abandon started altering their stylistic expression somewhat, and Mehdi Vafaei (organ) joined the band to add the dynamics of his chosen instrument to their sound.

By the time Abandon's second album In Reality We Suffer was issued in 2004 this alteration was in early stages, but for their next production both organ and stylistic change would be utilized to full effect.

A lengthy recording and production period was in store for the band though. Two band members were diagnosed with and succesfully fought a serious medical condition in this period, and in addition to that vocalist Carlzon struggled and eventually lost the battle of coping with his mental condition, passing away in December of 2008. One year later Abandon's third album The Dead End was released in his memory.
