ULTRA VIOLET RAYS is a neo-prog band hailing from Ohio, including Bill Spear on guitars, Steve Hayes on keyboards and guitars and Johnny Trey McMahan on vocals. The band also currently includes Dan Schnell on acoustic guitar and Ted Boburka on drums. Both Bill Spear and Steve Hayes are in the space rock band SECRET SAUCER and have both played in HAWKWIND tribute band SUN MACHINE.

The band released its first CD Den of Desire in 2001 and released its second CD Universal Heart in 2007. The band is influenced by, and draw inspiration from bands suh as MARILLION, CAMEL, BLUE OYSTER CULT, IQ, PENDRAGON, HAWKWIND and PINK FLOYD, among others.
