SUNBURNED HAND OF THE MAN are a band from Boston, Massachusetts formed around 1996/1997. It all started two years before with the collaboration of John Moloney (drums) and Robert Thomas (bass) for the psychedelic punk trio 'Shit Spangled Banner'. After the band died they began to work together with Chad Cooper (percussion, effects) and Rich Thomas (guitar) as a four-piece group first. Based on a socio-religious background they went on to play free-formed, unstructured music and also spent an equal amount of time making films.

The band is known for an everchanging lineup. Many people joined the group giving what time they could and everything got recorded. Consistently a bunch of CD-R productions plus regular albums were released until now - via their own Manhand label as well as a number of other small ones. They are still on the run - swirling around somewhere in the space of psychedelic and krautrock with trippy, looping and hallucinatory impressions based on a rich instrumentation also including diverse percussion and sound tools, pipes, mysterious space whispers respectively moans to name a few.

SUNBURNED HAND OF THE MAN are recommended to fans of freaked out music who are keen on excursions off the beaten path.
