Té biography
TÉ (officially all lowercase: té) is an instrumental post-rock ensemble hailing from Tokyo, Japan. Unlike their drowsy and melancholic counterparts, TÉ has gathered sufficient acclaim from both critiques and fans alike for their bombastic compositions and their energetic live performances. TÉ consists of five musicians: Tachibana on drums, the guitarists Kono and Hiro, and Masa on bass guitar.

After formation TÉ gained popularity in their homeland of Japan through their capitaviting performances and was eventually signed to Tower Records Japan which is one of the largest record labels on the eastern island. Their long awaited debut album, ならば、意味から解放された響きは『音』の世界の深淵を語る (in English If That Is What Is Being Thought, Liberated Sound Talks The Depth Of Musical World), was released in 2005 within Japan and instantly climed towards the tops of the Japanese music charts. In the September that the album was released, they reached the number 10 spot on the charts surpassing many other popular Japanese bands. To increase popularity, the label provided Tower Record outlets with TÉ specific listening sections. Furthermore, their single sold more than almost any instrumental group in the past. Since the release of their debut album, 2 prior albums have been created: それは、鳴り響く世界から現実的な音を『歌』おうとする思考。 , and まして、心と五感が一致するなら全て最上の『音楽』に変ずる. The American edition of their debut was released in March of 2006.
