Blindead biography
Founded in Gdynia, Poland in 1999 as "Incorrect Personality" - Changed name in 2003

BLINDEAD is formed by Michael "Winters" Zimorskiego (bass) and Mateusz Smierzchalskiego (HAVOC - guitar) in 1999. After a few months Mark Zielinski (DEADMAN - guitar), Konrad Ciesielski (drums) and Patryk Adamczyk (vocals) joined the band. Initially this was more of side project for the members since they had commitments in other bands.

They recorded their first demo under the moniker of INCORRECT PERSONALITY but due to the quality and relatively weak composition the demo wasn't distributed. In 2002, they were working on their first cd, but unfortunately it was not finished because Patryk Adamczyk left the band. Finding another vocalist took over a year. Zwoliński Patrick (NEOLITHIC) joined the band in mid 2003.

After just two months with the new vocalist the band changed their name to BLINDEAD and recorded a demo "Dig For Me."

Mateusz Smierzchalskiego returned from his farewell tour after leaving BEHEMOTH and devoted his time to playing with BLINDEAD. The band started rehearsing regularly and it defined the development of their sound.

In January of 2004, one of the founding members Michael Zimorski decided to leave the band. He was replaced by Rafal "Brovar" Brauer who was known for his work with BEHEMOTH, IMMEMORIAL, to name a few.

In July of 2005, the band went to Debica and recorded their debut album "Devouring Weakness" which was released in July of 2006 on Empire Records. The album was well received by fans and the media and the band toured Poland supporting their new album. After 11 shows, Brovar left the band. He would be eventually replaced by Piotr "Zvierzak" Kawalerowski. They also added Bartosz Hervy (known for his work with AGONISED BY LOVE and solo works H_12, HERVY) on keyboards, soundscapes and samples.

In August of 2007, the band went back to the Screw Factory Studio in Debica and recorded seven compositions which were more sophisticated with contrasting forms and included some industrial ambient textures.

At the end of the year of 2007 the band received a proposal from Tom Jurka to include a track on a promotion compilation "Shortcut To Polish Music" which included bands like RIVERSIDE, BEHEMOTH, ANTIGAMA, NYIA, DICK DICK 4, and PROGMHA-C. Tom also invited BLINDEAD to play as support for concerts which he organized: THE OCEAN THEMA and 11 in Wroclaw Firleju and a few months later, CULT ...
