Twin Zero biography
TWIN ZERO is a post metal band from Hull, Nottingham, London. Rueben Gotto (SUBVERT, JOHNNY TRUANT) started TWIN ZERO with a composition he was writing called "Monolith." He recruited some other local musicians and friends Bing Garcia (guitar, vocals), Dave Cheeseman (keyboards, vocals), Dylan Griffiths (bass), Si Hutchby (drums), and Ben Calvert (drums). The original plan was to be an instrumental band and have a different vocalist each time they played in a live setting, but when presented the material, Karl Middleton (EARTHTONE 9, THE BLUEPRINT) joined the band on vocals.
TWIN ZERO released their debut "Monolith" on Undergroove Records in January of 2005. The title track is an epic 22 minute song that is divided into six parts, but also featuring the two tracks Earthbound and Sixteen. The track Earthbound was also released on a special edition vinyl of 220 hand numbered copies by Futhermocker Records.
In August of 2005, they released a split with 27 which was limited to 1,000 copies.
In 2006, they released a 2CD "The Tomb of Every Hope." With this release, the band worked together on the new material and on the second disc there are some reworked ideas of the "Monolith" track.
WHY THIS BAND IS INCLUDED IN THE ARCHIVES:
TWIN ZERO is a very exciting post metal band with epic compositional skills incorporating two drummers, varied vocals, and exhibiting a wide range of emotion. They were approved by the Prog Metal Team and are highly recommended.
