Tephra biography
TEPHRA is a post metal band who were formed in 2003 in
Braunschweig,Germany.Before the formation of TEPHRA all of the members played in various local bands and played a variety of different styles,thus bringing a nice touch of musical diversity to their new band.

Starting out as a 4-piece,Tehpra recorded their self-financed 4 song demo in 2004 and began to gig locally.TEPHRA then signed to Riptide Records and in 2005 released their first full length self-titled album.

Adding keyboardist Florian rounded out their sound and gave their music a new dynamic,and in 2007 the now five piece band released their sophomore album "A Modicum of Truth".

TEPHRA play an interesting mix of post metal,doom,hardcore and sludge and are comparable to bands like YEAR OF NO LIGHT,MINSK,OMEGA MASSIF and THE OCEAN(singer Ercüment is also part of THE OCEAN Collective),and their particular brand of post metal is highly recommended.
