Appendix biography
Appendix was formed in 1996 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Initially they played closer to the mainstream alternative rock vein, but slowly their own style emerged, one more inspired by artists such Les Claypool, Mike Patton and Frank Zappa. In 1999 they released their first demo "Take It Out ... Put It In", and in 2002 their second highly-acclaimed "Change", which was also re-released along with new material in 2005 on the mini album "Overloaded". After some positive responses, the band played live tirelessly, mostly around Bratislava and in Czech Republic. The main trio of Juraj Benetin - vocals, guitar, Lukas Fila - bass, Henrich Offermann - drums, percussion was joined by Marian Jaslovsky in 2006. Jaslovsky enriched the sound with saxophone, flute and keyboards. In late 2007, after 11 years of existence, the band finally released their first full length album, entitled, reasonably enough, "I.". It showed the band's penchant for combining passages of varying styles within a single continuous composition, in such a way that it doesn't lose any listenability, in fact greatly benifiting from the colorful display of stylistic variations, which the band itself describes as "Origami crossover".
