Psycho Symphony biography
PSYCHO SYMPHONY was created the city of Carei, in Romania in 1992 by founding members Attila Mogyorós, Róbert Gindele and Gábor Gindele. The trio's style was "instrumental technical progressive thrash". Later on, in 1993, Emil Gherasim, formerly from the band CHAOS, joined forces, thus completing the band's current line-up.

The band recorded their first demo in 1994. Their second was released two years later, in 1996.

Their first full-length studio album, "Silent Fall" was recorded and released in 1997, to great reviews from the local and international press. This opened the doors for the group to play in the Pepsi Sziget Festival in Hungary, which gave them the opportunity to perform in a "grandiose festival".

The band released a promo-demo "Schizoid" in 2002. The recording got great reviews all over Europe.

The band played again in the "Sziget Festival", Hungary, in 2003, and in 2004 they celebrated their 10th anniversary at the "Decade of Metal" concert in Bucharest.

PSYCHO SYMPHONY's music draws from a lot of influences, but it's easy to tell the most important: thrash-metal and progressive-rock. The members themselves have said they consider their music a mix between "the progressive music of the '70 (King Crimson, ELP, Gentle Giant etc) and the techno-thrash & progressive metal of the '80-'90 (Mekong Delta, Voivod, Sieges Even, Psychotic Waltz etc)." As far reaching as that description may sound to some, it's actually close to the truth, as one can easily detect both prog-rock touches and thrash-metal details in the outfit's brand of technical, creative, original progressive-metal.

Why this artist must be listed in www.progarchives.com :
PSYCHO SYMPHONY plays a very unique brand of thrash-progressive-metal. It's not difficult to notice influences from the 70's prog giants in the band's music, with dark harmonies, multi-layered textures, odd time signatures and abrupt changes of tempo; it's also clear that they combine that with thrash-riffing, typical of bands like VOIVOD, but developed to the extent of the classical progressive-metal masters like DREAM THEATER.
