Tollheit biography
Tollheit (pronounced toll-height; German word for madness) is a progressive rock project created by composer, arranger, producer, and keyboardist Robert Doucette of Phoenix, Arizona. Doucette became interested in music at the age of 13 after going through his father's CD collection. He started playing guitar at the age of 15 and became obsessed with jazz rock/fusion and progressive rock. In 2003, he released his first album demo "Eureka" at the age of 18 and went on to record five more demos. He took up the piano at the age of 19 and has predominantly remained a keyboardist to this day. He studied piano performance, composition, music theory, and recording engineering at Arizona State University.

After a long hiatus from music, Doucette set up his own recording studio and began work on his first official album in 2019. His debut, "Paramount Dreams," was released in 2020, soon followed by "Atlas of Limbo" and "Checkmate" in 2021, "Tales From the Cauldron" in 2022, and "Opera Circus" and "Melancholy Zen" in 2023. All of these albums were instrumental. In 2024 he began experimenting with AI vocals and added these to his album "Bloody Sunday."
