Yind biography
Hailing from Lund, Yind were a short-lived Swedish instrumental band formed in 1996 or 1997, consisting of guitarists David Gülich and Andreas (Madsen?), bassist Martin Karlsson and drummer Benjamin Rasmus. Yind performed a dub, jazz and krautrock-informed post-rock which has been critically compared to Do Make Say Think, Ganger, Landing, Rothko and Tortoise.

After issuing their first self-titled single in 1997 through their co-owned label Selvik International Records, Yind's profile was raised when Gülich approached Unwound at one of their German tour dates in April 1998, leading Yind to later join them and Paul Newman on a tour of the western United States. Later that autumn, the quartet released a two-track EP, once again eponymous, via Rumsey's label Punk in My Vitamins, which also distributed 1999's The Yind CD, the band's debut and swan song LP. The album was recorded and produced by the quartet in conjunction with Rumsey and current and former Unwound bandmates Justin Trosper and Brandt Sandeno.
