Sunrise Dreamer biography
Sunrise Dreamer are an American progressive metal quartet from New York, in existence since 2020 as the spin-off project of Long Island's Inner Strength. The group was formed by original Inner Strength members Scott Oliva (vocals) and Joe Marselle (guitars), and were inspired by their flagship band's successful 2019 reunion performance and subsequent profile boost thanks to Divebomb Records' reissue campaign. Oliva and Marselle started writing new material in the spirit of their classic lineup, inviting their old bandmate Justin Hosman (bass) and former Dååth and Fozzy member Eric Sanders (drums) to complete the quartet. Hesitating to call the project Inner Strength due to drummer Joe Kirsch's unavailability, the band instead took their name from the fourth track of their 1993 debut Shallow Reflections.

Digitally piecing together the recording due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the resulting LP, A World to Know, was independently released on Sunrise Dreamer's Bandcamp on January 1, 2021, with a physical CD issued through Divebomb in the summer. The album's Fates Warning and Psychotic Waltz-derived prog/power metal leans closer to the technical thrash of Shallow Reflections rather than Inner Strength's more restrained 2024 reunion album.
