Sayona biography
Sayona were a Belgian krautrock duo active in the early 2010s consisting of Ernesto González (of Sylvester Anfang II and Bear Bones, Lay Low) and Sharon Schievers (aka Shazzula and formerly of Aqua Nebula Oscillator). Using analog synthesizers, guitars, processed vocals and plenty of effects, Sayona crafted improvised electronic music influenced by Silver Apples and Suicide, taking drum machine-powered jaunts that also nodded to early 1970s motorik, but more often than not floating through beatless deep space excursions similar to the early work of Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel.

The short-lived project played a handful of live shows from 2011 to 2013 (at one point opening for Acid Mothers Temple), and their discography is even more spartan, with their sole full-length, Terreur Blanche, issued in 2012 on cassette via Living Tapes, accompanied by two compilation tracks: one for Buh Records' Zero Kama tribute album and the other for the soundtrack of Schievers' avant-garde film Black Mass Rising.
