Paria biography
Founded in 2001, Paria are a North American extreme progressive metal group from Omaha, Nebraska. Their current and most stable lineup consists of Brian Craig (vocals), John Claus (guitars), Dustin Treinen (bass) and Corey Barnes (drums). Paria evolved from a nu metal-oriented act to an experimental mathcore band, borrowing from progressive metal, melodic metalcore and grindcore.

The band made their debut with the 2003 EP The Torn Instances, issued through Imagine It Records. The EP caught the attention of the Red Chord's Guy Kozowyk, who signed Paria to his independent record label Black Market Activities and later released their two full-lengths: 2004's Misanthropos and 2009's The Barnacle Cordious.

Paria entered hiatus in 2010 and reconvened in 2021, later signing to Lambgoat Records. The group released their first new music in fourteen years with 2023's Venerate single, significantly dialling down the technicality and pursuing a more straightforward brand of metallic hardcore.
