Remember Remember biography
Remember Remember is the nom de guerre of Scottish multi-instrumentalist and sound designer Graeme Ronald, rooted in Glasgow and established in 2006. Ronald, formerly of other Glaswegian outfits the Royal We and Multiplies, performs a minimalist and krautrock-influenced style of instrumental post-rock, building ecstatic melodies out of stacked loops with a technique that owes as much to Robert Fripp and Brian Eno as it does Steve Reich and Philip Glass.

Signed to the Rock Action label, Remember Remember issued their self-titled debut in 2008. It was nearly entirely performed by Ronald, who handled not only guitar but keys, harp, kalimba and glockenspiel. A handful of guest musicians appeared to complete his vision, like trumpeter Mick Cooke, saxophonist James Swinburne, violinist Joan Sweeney and former Multiplies bandmate James Hamilton on drums (with a few others, including Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite, supplying handclaps which Ronald wove into the sonic tapestry). By 2009, Remember Remember had expanded to a septet, with Swinburne having officially joined along with guitarists Joseph Quimby (vocalist of Take a Worm for a Walk Week) and Steven Kane (vocalist of Happy Particles). Bassist Andy Brown, percussionist Joanne Murtagh and synthesist Tommy Stuart (member of the Magnificents) would complete the line-up. This iteration of the group released the RR Scorpii EP in 2010 and Remember Remember's sophomore album, The Quickening, a year later, which once again featured guest musicians, among them local DIY figure RM Hubbert (of fellow post-rock band El Hombre Trajeado) on acoustic guitar.

In 2014 the band issued their third and final LP, Forgetting the Present, and a year later Ronald announced its split, with Remember Remember playing their final show at Glasgow's Ňran Mór before Ronald and his expecting partner moved to St. Louis, Missouri. In 2018, Ronald revived the project as a solo act, playing a few live shows and opening for Franz Ferdinand during their summer tour stop in St. Louis. Ronald also set up a Bandcamp page to distribute the band's first three records as well as demo and archival material.

Remember Remember will appeal to fans of Mark McGuire, Do Make Say Think, the Album Leaf, Mike Oldfield, Penguin Café Orchestra, Efterklang and Bell Orchestre.
