Five Acre Field biography
Formed: Melbourne, Australia, ca 2012
Status as of July 2022: Active
This Australian group is fronted by classically trained Matthew Gough who plays guitar and vocals, and has been influenced by all manner of classic prog folk from JETHRO TULL to PENTANGLE, as well as Canterbury groups like CARAVAN. Their first recording was a 5 track EP released in 2013. A full length self titled album has been recorded but it does not yet have a release date. According to Matthew, it is far superior to the EP, but the EP alone merits inclusion in the archives for its fresh decades-spanning approach, a pleasant if short diversion while we await the forthcoming release.
