Benthos biography
Gabriele PAPAGNI and Enrico TRIPOLDI met in 2017 while studying at The Guiseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music. They combined their diverse musical backgrounds and their love of classical, progressive and metal and made a few demos. LANDILLO (a friend of TRIPOLDI's) heard the demos and wanted to be a part of it. After hearing many auditions, the trio couldn't seem to find the right bassist and drummer, but eventually they met Alberto FIORANI and Alessandro TAGLIANI at a local venue and they were recruited into the band to complete the band's line-up. Producer Matteo MAGNI heard the band as they were opening for THE CONTORTIONIST in Milan and got them hooked up with a recording studio to begin putting their debut album "II" together. It was finished just prior to the lockdown in Italy. The band signed with Eclipse Records and finally released the debut a year later in 2021.

The band combines experimental progressive metal with classical, jazz and math rock styles and should appeal to fans of MASTORD, WHEEL, HEYOKA'S MIRROR, SIMULACRUM and TURBULENCE. SIMULACRUM and TURBULENCE.
