THE CALMER is a Sacramento duo band with Brian VEES (guitar) and Fee GARRO (bass). They started as a band called FIGUREHEAD. In 2006, they were playing together and learning their craft. After playing some live shows they started to write for a new album that would be ''Natural Disaster''. Then the band decided to add elements of Progressive Rock with more odd time signatures. During this, the band was already writing the album ''Presence'' that was released 10 years later. The album is a science fiction concept album of 77 minutes. The music can be described as alternative rock with a prog rock/metal style.
