Retrosphere biography
RETROSPHERE began life in the summer of 2016 as a fairly straightforward metal trio based in Richmond, Virginia, and they released their debut EP 'Wildflowers' at the end of that year. Following the departure of their drummer Mark PANETTI soon afterwards, the two remaining founding members - guitarist/composer/producers Byron HERNANDEZ and Seamus MCDANIEL - decided to continue as a duo under the name RETROSPHERE and to begin focusing their attention on more complex styles of music.

They gradually morphed into an instrumental progressive metal band which creates technical and challenging music whilst still retaining some catchy hooks and choruses.

Although no longer a member of the live band, Mark PANETTI continued to write drum parts for them which could then be programmed by others, and the release of their single 'Viridian' in August 2017 marked the beginning of a new era for RETROSPHERE. Their debut album 'In Motion' was released in January 2018, and Matt STEVENS joined the band as their new live drummer in April 2018.

The band released two more singles and an EP in 2019, followed by a further three singles in 2020. RETROSPHERE has played numerous live shows throughout Virginia, USA, over the years - both as the headline act and also as the opening act for other local bands.
