Veil of Conspiracy biography
VEIL OF CONSPIRACY is an Italian progressive doom metal band based in Tivoli, Lazio and formed by guitarist Luca GAGONI in 2016 from the ashes of the symphonic power metal band ASTRAL DOMINE. The first stable line-up consisted of Chris DE MARCO on vocals, Davide FABRIZIO on drums, Luca GAGONI on guitar, Emanuela MARINO also on guitar and Andrea MANNO on bass. The new band gradually honed and refined its sound and began composing songs increasingly based around the heavy melodies and oppressive, languid atmospheres typical of bands such as KATATONIA, OPETH, NEVERMORE and SOEN. Their debut album 'Me, Us and Them' was finally released in February 2019 via the Italian label Revalve Records.

In October 2019 Cristian Khali MARCHESE replaced Andrea MANNO on bass, and in July 2020 Alessandro SFORZA (ARS ONIRICA, INVERNOIR) replaced Chris DE MARCO on vocals. With this new line-up the band recorded its sophomore release 'Echoes of Winter', which was mixed and mastered by Stefano MORABITO, the guitarist of Italian death/thrash metal band EYECONOCLAST who also works as an engineer at the 16th Cellar Studio in Rome, and subsequently released via the Russian label BadMoodMan Music (a sub-label of Solitude Productions) in August 2021.

In December 2021 Federico BARDSKI of the Italian thrash metal band PROFILES IN TERROR joined the band replacing Cristian MARCHESE on bass. Then, in December 2023 during the preproduction of the VEIL OF CONSPIRACY's forthcoming third album, Alessandro SFORZA decided to leave the band for personal reasons, and was replaced on vocals in February 2024 by Nicola BELOTTI of the Italian post doom-death/sludge metal band FOR THE STORMS. A few months later in April 2024 Diego TASCIOTTI of the Italian black metal band HANDFULL OF FATE replaced Davide FABRIZIO on drums.

The band's third studio album is due at any moment now (October 2024) and was mixed and mastered by Øysteine G. BRUN, the guitarist and founder of the Norwegian heavy metal band BORKNAGAR, at his Crosound Studio in Norway.
