Anabasis biography
ANABASIS, formed in 2016, is a progressive metal band based out of Syracuse, New York. After releasing their single The Chamber in 2017, the group promoted themselves and toured the New England area, opening for acts such as BORN OF OSIRIS and NE OBLIVISCARIS. A lineup change in which Jesse PEACEMAKER was replaced by Steve LOSURDO occurred as the band set out to create their first full-length entitled Of Conviction, with Jesse as a contributing musician and partial writer.
The band's style fuses power-influenced progressive metal in the vein of DREAM THEATER with occasional extreme moments with harsh vocal accompaniment and heavier passages. Keyboards also add a strong layer to their sound. The lineup currently consists of David REID (drums), Patrick YOUNG (vocals, guitar), Brad DEVORE (guitar), Steve LOSURDO (piano, synth), Dylan LUNDGREN (guitar), and A.J. PISZCZ (bass).
