Bio:

A progressive rock-band band from Toulouse in the south-west of France, RIVIẼRE is Nicolas (guitar: Hate Me Tender), Alexandre (guitar: Hate Me Tender, Drawers, Montreal On Fire, Selenites, Toucan), Tommy (drums: Pauline de Saxe, Black Hills, Muff Diver) and Arnaud (bass/vocals: Seaside, Hate Me Tender).

RIVIẼRE unleashes a fusion of the power of post-hardcore and the melancholy emotion of the pop rock scene. The result is an intense and elegant subtlety enriched with the atmosphere of a strong rhythmic section and refined introspective vocals.

The coherent layers of dynamic textures and complex, varied rhythms drive the group towards musical genres such as Space Rock or Rock Art. The blend of aggressive passages and heart-felt vocals gives an atmosphere like those found in Alternative Metal and Post Rock, the group finding itself at the meeting point of diverse influences from groups such as DEFTONES, KARNIVOOL, TOOL, NIGHT VERSES...

The basis of RIVIẼRE's music can be found in what is today known as Progressive, from which they have drawn inspiration for different styles, techniques and guitar effects to produce a multi-layered universe which is one of the most distinctive heavy sounds of the day.

The band had started working together for some time before I joined them. It all started around the end of 2010 with Tommy our drummer and Jérémie, the first guitarist. Then Arnaud arrived on bass, and I started playing guitar with them in 2010. Jérémie left in 2013 and Alex took his place, giving the band it's final line up.

For the story, Arnaud, Alex and I used to play together when we were teenagers in an emocore band so this is not the first project we've shared.

Alex has had a continuous string of bands since then, and his energy and experience was a huge boost for us and we started recording our as yet untitled album only a year after his arrival.

Once in the recording studio with our instrumental album we had the pleasure of Arnaud accepting to take on his position as as our singer, which he had in our old band, and that's when HEAL became what it is today.
