Heresy biography
Heresy - not to be confused with the British punk rock band from the 80s - is an American progressive rock band, who started playing New York clubs in the 70s, released two albums in the 80s, and is now back together, playing shows and releasing new material. While certainly progressive, Heresy is strongly melodic, placing more emphasis on vocals than on extended instrumentals. There is also a folk element with some reliance on acoustic instruments.

In 1985, Heresy released their debut LP, 'AT THE DOOR', notable to some for the presence of Steve VAI on guitar on two of its tracks. The band followed up in 1989 with a double-length CD, 'A FAR CRY'. Heresy was largely dormant from 1991 to 2014, though lead singer Tony GARONE released some solo projects in those years. Having reformed, in 2016, they released PRUFROCK, which includes a 40+ minute suite that sets to music the seminal T.S.Eliot work, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock". The album also includes a number of bonus tracks, including some tracks from their first album never before available except on vinyl.
