"these pieces were the first attempts by duncan & steve to create electronic music, & were recorded during the first months of 1979, shortly before we discovered like-minds & collaborators.
the equipment was basic- an oscillator, a home-made mechanical sequencer & a couple of quarter-inch tape recorders.
we make no apology for the experimental nature of these pieces.

the publishing of this material now has been hastened & prompted by the untimely demise of pete shelley, founder & singer of the buzzcocks. his own musical career started in much the same way as ours- home-made electronics & a tape-recorder, & we would urge you to seek out his 1974 work "sky yen" on this basis.
