2 stars Great to notice that most of the reviewers and visitors love the wonderful studio album "Zarathustra", to me it's one of the most compelling progrock albums ever made! When I had discovered this gem in the late Eighties, soon the Italian label Contempo call it a day and so "Zarathustra" became a rare item. Then came the releases from obscure Museo Rosenbach material like this "Museo Rosenbach Live 1972" CD. Fortunately I got it as a promo so I had not to pay for it, what a poor recording quality! I'm afraid that even the 'bootleg die hards' will not succeed to listen more than a few minutes to this live recording. That's a pity because in my opinion good live recordings from Museo Rosenbach could have compete with a lot of live albums from the Seventies symphonic rock dinosaurs!

1 stars This is a live album that should never have been released. Twenty years after their good album "Zarathustra", was it necessary to publish such a "thing" ?

Two songs from their legendary album (but not the long piece suite) : "Della Natura" and the good "Dell Eterno...". The song "Doppo" is featured in another "rarities" album and is not really good. And finally, a medley of two songs.

"Season Of The Witch" (from "Donovan") and "It's A Man's Man's World" from ... James Brown ! I must even say that this version is not that bad but it might not really be the type of songs you would imagine that Museo would cover. A useless drum solo is also featured.

What is really unbearable is the sound quality : boot. Nothing more. Not to say that this album would have been great with a decent sound but as such it is a PITA.

The version of "Della Natura" is more extended than the studio one (there is a long jazz-oriented improvisation break in the middle section). Sound is slighthly better here.

One star. For completionists ONLY.

1 stars Been ripped off and made into a laughing stock. That is what I feel after having purchased this live album by this excellent band.

Let me first of all add that I have no gripes with the band or their members whatsoever. This review is by no means a review of this band and should not tarnish their reputation. That is my hope.

But their name has already been tarnished by the release of this live album. Or let's call it what it really is: A bootleg. The sound quality is positive worse than a half decent bootleg. When you can hear the sound of the audience around the sound recorder, you know it is a real bad bootleg. The band is hardly audible too. The choice of songs are also very dubious. Forget their best songs. This bootleg does not have any of the great Museo Rosenbach songs. Instead, you get some half baked songs which is hardly audiable and a [&*!#]ty drum solo which too is hardly audiable.

In short; this album is a rip off. Even the collectors should give this album a miss.

0.1 points
