5 stars Another older song from the band's Uni days that has been (thankfully) revisited and reworked into the great version we hear here. There is an ethereal quality to the sound here that I usually associate with bands like MIDAS FALL or Lee Douglas-led ANATHEMA. Lynsey's voice is incredible: it's angelic, acrobatic, heart-wrenchingly vulnerable, and so skilled!

This is a different and also great song from this intrepid band of ambitious youths. I love their intuitive sense of how a song should form and become finished. I'm so glad they're revisiting their old stuff and re-working it with their more experienced, more mature, knowledge and skill base. Another thing that is very different in this song compared to its predecessor, "The Collapse" is the numerous layers in the sonic field (not just the background vocals)--which leads me to ask once again: Is the background vocal work done exclusively by Lynsey or are they getting help from Espera and/or others?

An incredible song that would definitely have made my Top 30 list of favorites from 2024 had I known about it then.
